Lighthouse, Isle of Skye, oil on canvas, 12 x 12

I entered this piece into a juried contest, the 12 x 12 Artspace event, and it was accepted.  It was only the second time I had entered a juried art show, the other time being a Plein Air Austin event, where two of my pieces were accepted.

North Austin Hillside as seen from Bull Creek, oil on panel, 8 x 10

I took advantage of a beautiful fall afternoon to hike down Bull Creek and set up my easel, where I caught this view right above me.  I couldn’t resist the vivid blue sky against the red tile roofs.

Georgetown Church, 12 x 9, oil on panel

The Plein Air Austin group met at the Georgetown historic town square recently and spent several happy hours painting in gorgeous weather.  I chose to paint the historic church close to the town square, as it had some lovely shadowns and the architecture is very appealing to me.

Northern Lighthouse, Isle of Skye, Scotland, 8 x 10, oil on panel

Ken and I hiked the entire Isle of Skye last September and this was one of the fabulous lighthouses that we electronic cigarettes aa battery visited.  It is very remote on the outer edges of Skye and that day was very cold and windy.  We love Skye and can never get enough of its wild and forbidding terrain.

Grant and Katie, oil on panel, 9 x 12

This was a photo my son Brian took of his son Grant and Grant’s cousin Katie while they were in Cancun.  I loved it and wanted to paint it for Brian’s birthday to give him along with the painting I did of Grant’s brother, Brady.
